Engineered solutions

The finished cost of an engineer designed structural solution, once compliance and design fees are included, may cost a couple of thousand dollars per square meter.

After a slip has occurred, you may be obliged to undertake work of this nature, to whatever extent your insurer and engineers consider is appropriate.

Before a slip occurs you may choose to proactively complete structural work to smaller areas that are high risk. Lower risk areas may then be addressed with less expensive approaches.

Being proactive may be a good strategy, and it may pay to talk to a contractor before engaging a design professional.
