Insurance

The first thing to note is that there is almost certainly a requirement to disclose anything to your insurer that may be relevant to insurance.

Once there is evidence of land instability on a property, such as land cracking or visible erosion, an insurer may impose special terms or try to avoid payments for future slips.

It may be advantageous to be contacting your insurer to say that you are doing pro-active work to reduce the chance of a landslide before there is evidence of land instability.
