Who is reponsibile for slip prevention work

It is easy enough to find descriptions of situations where a neighbour might be responsible for maintaining the stability of a slope.

It may be best to take a pragmatic approach rather than being litigous.

We have seen hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage happen while two parties are arguing about who should stabilise a slope that had become precarious.

As preventing a slip will generally be preferable to repairing one, it may be best to address any obvious risk factors that can be efficiently remedied, regardless of where the boundary is.
